"Just messing around" is modest for this image. It feels like an apocalyptic impact of a soul falling into a huge revelation. Quite powerful. And his arms are spread out in some kind of shock or surrender---he almost looks like he's making an offering. And there are, well, almost 'wings' around one of his arms; and I like the light here and the texture to the shadow. I know he's fallen from grace, but there's something very strong about it too, as if he's making an offering even as he falls. Very strong image.
