You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Several things before I get to the image... First, you speak and write French natively, right? (I use translators. And I pray fiercely that my French won't sound like 16 dogs barking.) So I assume your French is real, and smooth. Second, thank you for your very kind words on my Yves dedi: It was very kind considering I can't do figure drawing a thousandth as well as Yves, and that the piece I made for him took me hours. He, I'm sure, takes time; but he simply has a way---one gets the feeling that his paintings just "drop" out of him, fully formed. He's magical, and takes our breath away, as you say. Third, your words, here, are just perfect for Yves. You hit his art right on the button; you hit the nail on the head. Fourth, have you seen his early works? He does men and women, and a number of subjects you wouldn't have expected, given his present (marvelous) style. If you haven't seen them, look at the first several pages of his gallery: He's come through many styles as an artist! And there are even some pencil works in there!
But most of all: You've done another Brigitte piece, transforming an image in your own unique way, turning this contemplative nude into a penetrating study, with those intense reds where there would be shadow, as if this person is sunken in deep passionate thought. Great contrast with the greens. And you cropped it in a very sculptural way, bringing out a sculptural feeling more than the photographic one---this is a compliment---which makes it very touchable, very much of stone (or metal). There's an art to photographing sculpture so it doesn't look like "2D" art: Even if this is a photograph, it feels very 3 dimensional. It's no surprise to me that you can do that. But you have to know, it's not easy.
And, you have an overall green patina. It's contemplative and intense. Overall, it's a terrific treatment, dedi or no. And, as a dedi to one of our best figure artists, it's perfect. He could have painted someone like this, so you're right in his universe. It's always great to see you post: You turn our normal worlds upside down and find newness and freshness everytime. You'd have fit in perfectly in the wild 70s and 80s in New York: I don't know if you'd have liked living there (it was a fairly brutal city then), but artistically, your fast sharp eye and great way with concept, your wit, your way of using colors as others wouldn't think of, and your way of making an image be reborn, with your creativity and play, would've been a big boon in that environment. Love your image, and it's perfect for Yves.
