Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I love these shots you do with mirrors, you have the initial image and then the reflective one too.

Very nice capture Andrea. I like the frame of the mirror very much.

in long sessions, I comment while taking calls, cleaning things up, etc, and yet the minute I come back, I'm drawn in as if I never left. It's great to do many of yours in a row because I feel like I've actually been in your world for a while...I know how you love mirrors, and this is another study of how they transform a room. And it's a fascinating study of forms and contrasting lines, etc. That lamp's lines are wonderful in contrast with the planes around them, and next to the many contrasted shapes in the mirror. (A great bunch of images in that mirror, from a visual standpoint!) Like your still lifes, its a very rich image; it's rich and full and filled with visual counterpoint.

What a beautiful interior, Andrea :-)

And I love colours, and shapes, and I recognize your watcher there; I don't remember that lamp, but that's no surprise as there is so incredibly much to see in your home that it's impossible for it all to register at once...this view is wonderful!
