The large crack up the middle of the roadway (probably due to repeated freeze/thaw cycles?) is a very strong lead-in toward the end of the road. I love that you can see so far down that long, long path. Wonderful shot!

Wonderful urban grit. The way you've framed & cropped it makes me think I'm looking at this from a very low angle - like at a dog's or cat's eye level. The Bob Dylan song I'm reminded of is "Subterranean Homesick Blues", the video for which (in which he holds up cardboard signs with the handwritten lyrics to the song) I believe was shot in an alley that looked something like this...

Photo makes me think of some songs, great looking shot, mostly since there is no snow like we have. My car got stuck in front of my house today.

Great shot, but I have to say that alley looks like something out of a Stephen King movie. Don't see things like that anymore in the mountains. Just lots of snow, snow, and more snow.

Gritty, yes, but this also has a feeling of gentle decay. From the cracked pavement to the wall in need of patching and paint there is this aura of neglect. And yet the image is surprisingly free of trash. A terrific POV.

Everyone has a back view and yours looks tidier than a lot I see. An excellent POV that brings one back to reality which is a good thing. 😄

look like the alley where gangsters in the movie would come at times to do business. but that what i think about chicago and the purple gang and Al Capone and the st valentines day massacre. O know a man from chicago and worded with him down here. he told me i was the only one he meet that even heard of the purple gang of the roaring twenties. I just like to read about history

Ditto wysiwig, and I like the perspective and feeling of depth in this somber, cold and wet, Chicago alley shot. A lot darker ambiance than any of my local alleys, which are often loaded with trash. Maybe truer with other authors, but I don't see any typical Stephen King in any of this.

Je me laisse aller deci-delà trébuchant sur quelques obstacles que sont les poubelles-déchets, mais obstinément jusqu'à cette ligne (une rigole) de fuite, bien vu !

There's something oddly fascinating about alleys.... To me, at least. They have such an air of mystery and possible danger. You never know what's lurking there. Muggers? Zombies?

A great, detailed shot, Mark!
