Description

...which I colored and filled-in, in Photoshop. It was inspired by the beautiful drawings that architects made of imaginary ornaments. (I made a series, years back.) Thank you, everyone, for your visits and support. I wish you all a fine Wednesday. m (More detail zoomed...) -------------------------------------------

I love the way faces appear when an image is duplicated and flipped, and the faces that showed up here are wonderful! As Mike says, it seems that several factions are in dialog with each other. Power and innocence, spirituality and failure, superheroes and supplicants. Fabulous!!

Splendid blendings in this kaleidoscopic image of Satanism at its most endearing, Mark. But mauve Satanism? Oh well, who said it had to always be black and red? Among other items, I see the Angel of Death, a fly, a swept wing bomber, and some narrow scowling faces. I love pareidolia. Great postwork, my friend.

This would make an awesome stained glass window! I love this, Mark - so much to see here - and the longer you look, the more you discover.

Ah, yes..... Back in the times when architects had artistic vision, and buildings were constructed with some semblance of pleasing design - unlike most of today's boxes lined with reflective glass. I love the old Art Deco style architecture.

If you ever want to see absolutely gorgeous buildings, watch some of the Star Wars movies where they feature scenes on the city-planet Coruscant... They all have those wonderful Art Deco curves and sweeping lines. This would look so perfect as a large window in one of those buildings. I second Tara's "Fabulous!"

Upon looking at this my first impression was that it looked vaguely anatomical. After reading the comments I took a closer look and have to agree with most of the others. For me the most prominent figure is the demon (devil?) at the bottom, complete with wings. It is fascinating and a tribute to your art that under your hand this has become an allegorical struggle between light and darkness.

I see the same devils & angels as others have remarked about & a movement of ascension from the bottom to the top, from hell to heaven, from dark to light, from evil to good. I do find scrolling through large images like this to be visually frustrating though - does anybody know where I can get a ten foot tall monitor?

I see many figures in this, but I don't detect good/evil; to me I see only many levels of existence and development. And I agree with Rod, it would be a stunning stained glass window. I love images that aren't easily placed into a spot in reality, and this is a wonderful example!

Wow Mark, this is a fabulous image in beautiful soft colors that really reach out to be noticed. I love how I can see faces and shapes which aren't really there but are in my mind. They pop up all over this one. Very cleverly created and presented. 😄

Such a fascinating artwork,Mark. There are so many subliminal characters inside this world you have created. Some are huge, like the demonic beast-like character on the bottom, and the gentle face on top, and the angel in the center connecting them all together. Though you said this came from ornaments, I see entities in there, many many entitles. The lovely and peaceful lavender shades give it an ethereal glow and feel, however this is contrasted with darker spirits, all inhabiting the same world. I see many creatures, animals, and even hearts and leaf like plants, too. A most intriguing image that invites the viewer to explore and see what's inside. Reminds me of an ink blot test where what the viewer sees is most telling about their psyche. I'd say you have created something I always enjoy in art ... a unique and very individual experience.
