Description

I continue with posting photos from our drive along the wine route in the Alsace region of France. It was such a beautiful drive. We saw so many charming places. I love the design of this little church steeple. I must admit I do not know precisely where along the route we were when I took it, but I can tell you there were wonderful surprises to see around every curve.

Thank you. I only saw it in passing, but I am glad to know the name. Now I can find it again.

OHH this is a lovely way of building a tower roof. Great shot too.

I'm skipping around---I interrupted the recent series so I could pay homage to some earlier pieces I hadn't commented on. But it's only for that purpose, not because I like your other images any less---I don't! Just want to get a swath of your work, all of which I've seen...I Love the composition of this shot, because the buildings are all massed on the bottom, with that high 'wall' behind it, made of trees and terraced land. And the steeple is the thing that draws the two worlds together. The light is so bright and flat, and the shadows are wonderfully deep as a result. And you caught the visual 'jazz' of rooftops and tiles and windows all playing off of each other. A really fine piece of contrasts and light and shade. And a beautiful view of a typical sight from this beautiful part of the world.
