Description
The Nautilus begins to submerge for its lethal run at the warship. (The two streams of water from the bow are mentioned in the novel in the engagement between the Abraham Lincoln and the Nautilus.) We see another cannon flash from one of the warship's deck guns and the splash of the previous shot. The camera obscura mast is still raised from the wheelhouse top for a final course fix but it will be withdrawn for the ram attack.
The scene was composed and rendered in Poser 11 Pro. I did some postwork in Corel PhotoPaint to smooth a few discontinuities. The environment is the Poser Ocean and Flink's Sunset. The wakes are mainly from the IN Wavecutter. The murder of crows (Flock Formations from HiveWire 3D) follows the Nautilus. The water streams are from Flink's Water Effects. The warship is from Ships of the Civil War. The splash and the cannon flash are from Chris's free Explosion Props. The Nautilus is my 20,000 Leagues Nautilus.

Aha! A paddle wheeler with side paddles. Hull of wood, maybe copper plated. Should be an easy ram 'n sink. Keep up the good work. I'm stuck in suspense! My favorite sub and captain. (I read the book 1958 at age 8. My did it grab my fantasy!). Great job with sun set and water. Keep up the good work! :-)
