Description

The Nautilus is submerged and on its deadly course as the sun sets on the doomed warship. Its cannons are firing but with no hits. As in Moby Dick, only the birds know where the monster is. The scene was composed and rendered in Poser 11 Pro. I did some post work in Corel PhotoPaint on the splash and flashes. The environment is the Poser Ocean and Flink's Sunset. The wakes are from the IN Wavecutter. The birds are from Flock Formations from HiveWire 3D. The warship is from Ships of the Civil War. The splash and the cannon flashes are from Chris's free Explosion Props.

Nice with how you got the water roiling around the Nautilus. Nice sunset and reflection from the water. What I wonder is, how did they know it was the Nautilus at the initially great distance? I can't wait for the sequel! Keep up the good work! :-)

According to the novel an unknown sea monster was attacking ships. They didn't know it was a submarine. Until the end of the novel Aronnax and his companions are drugged and locked up during the attacks. Then Nemo tell him about his revenge obsession. With two exceptions, the Scotia, an incredible accident because the Nautilus is running with no one in the wheelhouse, and the Abraham Lincoln which was tracking and firing on the "sea monster", apparently all the attacks were against ships of Nemo's hated nation. We can assume they knew they were special targets and fired at anything large and unknown that was coming toward them.

This particular series is almost at an end but my earlier Nemo series should pick up again. Although that isn't true to the novel, it will incorporate some scenes from the novel substituting the non-canon daughter for Aronnax.
