Description

For a tank that had very poor visibility for the crew and in most cases exhibited shoddy construction, the massive production of the T-34 alone (some 60,000 units) was enough to overwhelm the German tank numbers and drive back the invaders. The combination of a large 76mm high velocity gun, sloped armor sides, good maneuverability, and an engine big enough to propel the beast at 35 miles per hour made the T-34 advanced for it's time (if not in innovation, definitely in the combination of favorable elements) and a deadly adversary for the strained German Panzers. There are many experts today that think it was the best tank of the war. In any case, it was the tool that Stalin employed to sweep the Germans aside and engage in his own territorial acquisitions in the name of the Soviet people. T-34 v-1943: Excellent model by Ranman38 was available at ontarget3d.com (site down). Soviet Uniforms: Coat by JTrout (may be available in Rendo free section, I can't vouch for that). Tank driver: Daz M4, Red Army uniform from PoserWorld, Russian tanker helmet from ranman38 (used to be available at Ontarget3d as well. PoserPro14, Vue6Infinite, PS Cs3

At the start of the war the T-34 certainly had a legitimate claim to being the best tank in the world, but certainly not once the Germans started making Panthers and later the Tigers. However the Russians were able to build them faster than the Germans could blow them up, and that ultimately won the war in the east. You've created a very convincing portrait of the machine and the part of the world where it hunted!

Amazing image Bill. As for the tank, well it did what it was designed to do and deserves more recognition.
