The Hyperion series was great as well.

Finally, someone else who has read that series. It's my absolute favorite series and inspired me to get back into reading scifi again. I have never looked back since. Nice interpretation of the Templar tree ship. I also like the bright star that lights the scene (very dramatic). One day I hope to visualize and render a scene from the series myself.
