Description

Time to move on with the vacation report. After the day we spent in the Alsace we left my cousin's home in Switzerland and spent a very long day of travel without much stopping in order to arrive at our campground resevation before dark. We made it and managed to pitch our tent before dark. The next day we just rested and enjoyed the surroundings at the campground. It was a gorgeous place surrounded by colorful cliffs and beautiful trees. This was the first time I had been camping in many years and I was keeping my fingers crossed that I could manage to sleep comfortably. I was pleasantly surprised and very much enjoyed it. These are just a few of the many photos I took of this beautiful camp area. Most of the shots are taken from our pitch. If you look closely at the stairway shot you will see it is almost overrun on the right side by rosemary and lavender. This grew all over around there. It was heavenly smelling.

OH WOW! I see you had such a wonderful vacation. So beautiful mountains, rocks, trees, stairs and SUN. Yes, there is something speciel about living in a tent. We did it alot when we were younger. I could never sleep well, but I still I remember it as a wonderful time :)

Beautiful scenery. Sounds like you had a great time. My camping days are over, though - I enjoyed it when I was younger, but am no longer willing to do without a comfortable bed, a hot shower & a full breakfast in the morning...

Well, that was what I was worried about also, but they had nice hot showers And we had a nifty little cooking stove called a Safari Chef which made it easy to cook. But we usually got fresh croissants every morning because...well we were in France and they have lovely croissants. I should have taken a photo of a French croissant.
