Description
Captured back on 3/13/10, at the beautiful Los Angeles/Griffith Park Zoo in Los Angeles, California.
Okay, not as elegantly portrayed as MrsRatbag's big tigers at her zoo - and this one even nameless from my standpoint (could be something as exotic as Athos or Tai) - I thought at least it would conjure up a vision of a big cat ready to pounce on its unsuspecting prey. If the zoo wasn't so crowded, undisciplined child-ridden, and far away, I would gladly return for more photos.

Fantastic capture Harry !!!

It's a great capture as they are very secretive animals, so I would think it is hard to get a good shot. ☺

Hmmm...undisciplined child-ridden - sound like LUNCH TIME! Imagine what would happen if a brat were to get inside the cage! Yum! Yum! I sure understand your feelings. Nice photo. What I find fascinating is the lighting. Brings out the tiger very nicely. Keep up the good work! :-)

Had it been a smaller car, I would think he had spotted a mouse, but I guess he is aiming for bigger prey :) Lovely shot.

That looks like a tiger on a mission, excellent shot Harry! Looking up the zoo's website I see they have Sumatran tigers, but they don't give personal information like names or family histories, maybe they want to keep it generic so people don't get attached? That's what happens with a big zoo, I guess. I prefer the small ones where you can get to know the animals and their handlers, it's more interesting that way in my opinion. Yes, I know there are people that say zoos are bad, and all animals should be left in the wild, but the reality is most animals in the zoo are there for a reason, and they are well-tended and alive only because they're in the zoo. It's an argument that will never be resolved, and everyone will hold onto their side.
