Description

A member asked about a red light that showed up in the posting of the "Sunbeam #2" Its hard to show everything that is happening in an singel still frame of an animation with out seeing the full animation first." This is the 4 sec. landing rotation sequence that is added to another 10 short camera changes of the ship that makeup the approach. I hope this helps? I will only keep this up for a few days unless asked not to remove it.

I now see the red lights! This is a striking image in its own right and I love the widescreen image. The view gives me that nervous yet exciting feeling I get when landing at an airport. Great mechanical detail for the landing gear. Do the parts animate when landing, I mean the weight of the ship cause the hydraulics to give way?

Unfortunately I couldnt get CS2 to lock all the points needed for the gear arm flex. I tried Bones but got too much off center drift and the cylinders deformed. RDS 5.5 had some great options for doing things like this but I cant get them to work in CS2. I know I can do it out side of CS2 but I have followed this program all the way up from Ray-Dream 3D and want to keep it kind of in the family. With winds up happening on the landing is that the lower, upper ring on each gear leg moves up the cylinder along with the shock arms and the rest of the bottom gear assembly upwards. No arm flex. I think it needs a two point pivot option with a lock on both sides of an object.

I was never a big fan of widescreen image play back on a TV until I did a few test animations and some contest work with it. DV is my choise format because of its almost lossless export to most DVD applications. I also use it with a DAC to keep the animation files on tape as a backup.

memaci: I did re-do a test of the aft gear armshock squish. Its all manual animation but just for the short time that it will be viewed it was worth it! Thanks for making me put it back in. I will try to post a thumb image of it moving but if it doesnt work will send it to my old site for down loadplay back. Eject! Eject! Eject! needs to finish first so I will post it after.
