I love the camera angle, the lighting, and texturing. But your arrow is on the wrong side of the bow stave. The rule of thumb is that the arrow is on the same side as the hand gripping the stave.
Otherwise, lovely render.

Good point vidarr made. She's a lefty, I'm not but from what I remember, the arrow would be on the opposite side as the thumb and on the same side as the eye. Might be interesting to see what a DOF effect would look like.

Cool suggestion... not sure how well motion master will interact with DOF camera, but worth a try... will post it if it works.

I've had a go at a some DOF compositions... Motion master doesnt look that good with a blurred arrow, but some background "bokeh" does give the image more punch. I will try some experiments with the DOF softening the main figure, leaving the arowhead sharp and see what we get...

A came across mention of a way of shooting used in Germany called the "Thumb Technique", that has the arrow on the inside of the bow. A similar style is also used by middle eastern horse archers to fire numerous arrows in quick succession ("shower shooting").
... so until I get round to re-rendering and updating this , she's obviously from that neck of the woods (pardon the pun!) :)
