Description
Captured 3/25/16 @ 8:41 am, about a third of a mile from home.
Not the most ideal time of the day, sunlight-wise, to photograph this, but I couldn't pass it up. I'll try to snap it later under more propitious conditions.

Aren't the topiary trees lovely, they are a lot of work but the results are well worth the effort. That is a nice looking neighborhood. ☺

Ooh, those are beautiful trees! The peekaboo sunlight lets us see the subtle colours of the leaves way up top. Nicely captured!

(ArtistKimberly always ends her comments with a comma! A totally new way of completing a sentence...) The topiary, once again, is beautiful. But your interplay of light and shadow, and shape and shape, is terrific. You wrote: "Not the most ideal time of the day, sunlight-wise, to photograph this, but I couldn't pass it up..." Well, I'm glad you didn't pass it up, because you caught terrific light. Difficult, yes: But you aced it. The piece is awash in shadow and light, and the strong morning light on those sculpted trees make them like jewels, or even scoops of green mashed potatoes or iced cream. Very intense play of light and shadow. And the shapes---from the round tree tops, to the squared/angled house-sides, to the tiles of the front walkway, to the curved sidewalk and road---make a wonderful fugue. Even the two jutting pieces of architecture on the far left make fine counterpoint. I'm really glad you took this, it's a very rich tapestry. I love it! (And btw, if this is a 3d of a mile from your home, you live around some beautiful areas! It looks more suburban than urban to me.)
