Description
Captured 3/26/16 @ 8:08 am, about 3/4 of a mile from home.
I think it's a lily because of the stamens. Otherwise, its ID is well beyond my limited floral acumen. Further research provided not a clue. And, it seems to be in a state of decline. The image was enhanced to bring out the contrast and texture.

Lovely capture. I think it is a Morning Glory, but I may be wrong.

With stamens? Like no Morning Glory I ever saw. Thanks anyway for the input.

I'm pretty useless when it comes to identifying flowers, but this is a beautiful shot. The light reveals wonderfully soft veined textures...

I don't know this flower, Harry; the swirling pointed tips on the petals and the bell-shaped flower reminds me a bit of datura, but I don't think that's quite right either, as those are quite large. What a superb bit of photography and postwork you've accomplished on this shot! Kudos!

wow, you got a heavy-duty comment from wolfenshire...glad to see it. (And another comma-ending comment from ArtistKimberly!) Well, if Denise doesn't know what this is, there's no hope in the world! I couldn't tell you---you know how little I know about flower species---but I agree that this is a stunning shot! Your angle is of a portrait variety, it's just beautiful; and you caught the surrounding leaves so harmoniously and richly. The contrast of that quilted set of petals---with those quilted ribs!!!---with the highly sharp contrasts of the leaves, is just terrific. Beautifully framed, lit and angled, a terrific flower capture with a perfect deep green background. A real beauty, Harry. (And how does one look up a flower's name? I mean you have to look at lots of pictures, right? That must take a lot of time.) (I think plants should grow with name tags. Small, unobtrusive, way down near the bottom of the stem...)
