I've seen, in your gallery, that you do a number of fairy-tale and folktale pieces, with the feeling of enchanted lands and magical appearances, etc. This is a wonderful example. Beautifully conceived, with that huge tree in the center coming out of a formidable rock base; something that would normally obliterate a scene, but which, here, roots it and gives it its magic (because of the massive presence of the tree, and its beautiful detail). The giraffe at the door is very well done and lit, looking down at the girl (and smiling, I think). And the girl has a wonderful posture, arms back and hair back almost as if she were blown away by the giraffe's looming but sweet presence. The towers (or turrets?) right behind her are wonderful fairy tale structures. And your sky is something out of The Wizard of Oz, after the storm. The image is all massed in the center, it feels rock solid, and you put real ephemeral magic into it. (And, like the bazaar piece, you cut the scene off at the top, which thrusts us right into the middle.) Wonderful work.
