Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I LOVE it!

And we're very glad they love those colours, what a great shot! There's a tractor parked in front of a business on the road to Woodinville up through the Samammish River valley not far from here, and it's the same colour pink. I must get over and get some shots of it...

It sure beats the "everyone has to look the same" boxes we live in here. Nice find.

a wonderful carnival of hues...and the pinks and pink-reds are beautiful. Plus it's a big massing of shapes and lines and objects, which I love. You do those types of shots so well. (Never an easy task, mine tend to be a muddle.) One of the flower pots is tilted, like it fell over; and the whole wall of pots is wonderfully rich, a little chaotic and very rhythmic. Musical. Lots of great light here too, and I love how the shot drops into a 'cavern' on the left bottom, where there's a surprising view of a descent: Apparently this moves into the street down below, and this sight is being seen from a second floor. Beautiful, complex piece, and yeah, warmer climates will have bright colors: I guess it's humans' response to the teeming growth all around them.
