Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This is really nice. I especially like the slight fog in the distance and the rich deep colors. I I've been through here and finally understood what John Muir meant when he called this place a cathedral.

I would very much like to take my Dutch husband to this area. It is one of those truly awe-inspiring places in the world where you need to be there to experience the atmosphere and smell the trees and hear the breeze through the branches. Your beautiful photo returns me to this place that I have myself only seen a few times. I hope I get to return in person someday.

You've done a few shots like this, and each time they convey mystery, majesty and intimacy. It's an intimate pov, yet it towers. And the light coming through---on the road but also from that opening in the left top---is beautiful. As is the fog, and the general softness of the image. Your spirit flows through this, esp your traveling spirit. Beautiful shot, and the road, wet as it is (I assume), has a luminous feel as it goes into the distance...
