Description

More flowers from the gardens at Shore Acres State Park. Thanks to Andrea for identifying my post yesterday as azaleas. I'm thinking this one might be another variety of azalea, but once again, I could be totally off base. Hopefully Andrea or someone else more horticulturally savvy than me (which is pretty much anyone) can identify this... Please zoom.

I'm skipping only so I can get even remotely close to your most recent posts. (Love the cemetery shots, and lots of others from the present.) Zoom is everything here. Oh---and you thanked andrea for ID'ing a previous flower: I can almost guarantee you that the day will never come when you say "thanks to Mark for telling me which flower that was". Never. Ain't gonna happen. I know 3 flower names, and they're wrong...

In zoom, this is gorgeous. The red spotted centers---which go from light to dark pink, then those black leopard spots---jump out beautifully. And the base is in deep amber yellow, and it shines from within. The background hues are beautiful, with lots of darks to set off the pinks. And the 'radiation' pattern of the leaves make a beautiful pedestal. Beautiful contrasts in this sensual shot. You saw it just right.
