Description
Captured back on 11/7/10, at a Renaissance Faire held at Felicita County Park, 742, in semi beautiful Escondido, California.
The medieval past meets the laid-back present in this striking shot. I believe the knight was asking directions to Nottingham.

It's quite striking, the differences between past and present. The king's costumeplay is really marvelous, and he has the attitude down perfectly. Well captured, Harry!

How impressive the knight looks on this fine stead. A beautiful capture. ☺

fine composition with the knight angling down towards the teen, and the teen looking at the horse, and the horse angled away from both of them...a continuous line of composition, with the background on an almost optical-illusion angle---just fascinating, because the walkway or road (on the far right) is level with the picture frame, while the rest of the image angles down on a slope: The many angles here are just fascinating, as they all point to each other in a very pleasing maze of directions. So, while your center is the knight on horse, there are all these other 'vectors' here! (It looks like you tilted the shot, but you didn't.) And the juxtaposition of the knight with the kid is wonderful---"dude" is just right. Modern teen enters the world of King Arthur...I love the music of this photo. (And btw, thanks for telling us that this is a different faire...I kind of thought so, since the date seemed a few years older, but I didn't remember the exact date of the last one...) Both these guys are wearing draped clothing, but wayyyyyy different periods...
