Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I lost my mom almost 9 years ago and I also think about her every day. She is part of my heart even when I am not consciously thinking of her she is there. Every time I cook I think of her because she taught me....every time I see or work on art I think of her because she was an artist and she taught me to appreciate art and try to do my own. I do not know how it is for those who do not have a good relation with their mothers. Maybe they forget them. But my mother was my best friend and I miss being able to hug her and talk to her outside my own heart. Now I have rambled too much.
This is a gorgeous warm photo and I am glad you made it home safe and sound.

My Mom passed just at the turn of Y2K and I miss her as well - she instilled a love of reading in me.

No matter how long the person has lived its always too soon when a loved one leaves us. It took three months for my mother to die and though I would have preferred an easier end for her we did clear up a lot of garbage in our relationship. It also brought our family together. Another beautiful image.

A lovely photo. My mother was my best friend, and I lost her very slowly through Alzheimer's disease so I was glad when she finally died and was out of her misery.
