Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

My God, this is beautiful. Someone once said that a man does not become an adult until his parents die. I am so sorry for your friend's loss.

Mike, Mark and guilband are so spot on with their comments. This photo is so beautifully expressive that it is indeed like poetry of emotion. My heart also cries for the loss of your friend's mom and I send my love and sympathy.

A most poignant dedication, Marilyn. This excellent photo best reflects her passing.

We've seen these types of glorious waves from you before, and they make a deeply fitting tribute to the passing of someone you and marcos loved. Like she's been taken up by the waves, and held by them, caressed and cared for forever. The light is gorgeous. And the feeling is one of liberation, transcendence. Some beautiful comments above, and I echo them all; and my deepest condolences to Marcos and his family, and to you...and I hope you all find peace in time. I'm terribly sorry for her passing, it was all so sudden; and I hope she was in peace in the end. A touching tribute, Marilyn...many blessings to you and Marcos and his family...
