Description
I was glad I took photos of the signs since going back through this I would have been lost about which ruin was formerly what. I did not get a shot with the market stalls included, but the top photo is the #2 on the map (sacred shrine sacellum). the tall thing on the left is the doric portico and the right bottom is the votive altar. I have a great respect for the archeologists who figure all this stuff out and share their findings. It was fun to imagine how life was all those centuries ago.

Actually I do see a little of the market stalls on the left side of the doric portico shot. They were very small stalls side by side.

I love visiting old ruins like this - there's such a sense of history & solidity - so much of our current culture comes & goes in the blink of an eye (15 minutes of fame, planned obsolescence, disposable commodities, etc.), that I find it reassuring to experience something that has lasted for so many centuries. Thanks for sharing...
