Description
I did not see this wreck happen, but arrived after the fact. I am guessing that the truck was driving with the bed up and caught the phone wires and signal lights taking out two electric posts.
the car was struck on the driver side but both drivers were safe. well, except the truck driver after the city tickets him
if I had not stopped for gasoline, I could have been there

scary stuff...as you say, anyone, incl you, who got there at the wrong moment could've been badly hurt or killed. It's always hard to talk about the 'visual' quality of a shot of an accident, but that's what photojournalists do...their native sense of 'capture' takes over in an instant and they get those shots that capture the moment truly. The massing of the truck's elements, the wires, the guy picking up debris, that wrecked car, and the soil and other stuff on the road, make for a really impactful shot. With partly clear road on either side, it's framed to bring home the impact of that collapsed mass. Further, we're seeing the underside---the 'guts' of the truck. And you left in a big chunk of open sky and grass, which emphasizes the mass of the crash all the more. The second upload of this accident is equally striking; and its horizontal layout gives a sense of the spread of the accident. Terrific shooting of a pretty ghastly sight. Glad no one was hurt, incl you.
