Description

Abandoned. Desolate. Shunned... All fancy ways to say "Feared." A child's mind is blissfully uncluttered by concepts of equity, potential and renovation. A child knows when you should just stay away and leave it to the guardians of the night. Listen to the children, listen to midnight warning of the owl on its perch. Just move on, grown-ups. Just move on. ------------------- A simple Iray render in Daz Studio to showcase the beautiful detail of Ken Gilliand's Owls of the World (vol 1) from Hivewire. I just wanted to evoke a sense of mystery with a hint of lurking horror in this scene, rather than just do a series of standard bird poses.

I love the title :-). I like also the gracious pose of the owl, and the light and the entourage are terrific. Very very splendid!!!

Thanks. And that was exactly the point with the lighting of the "thing" in the window. I thought this was a case where being vague was better than obvious. I know what he is and in this image I can't tell, either. If you want to see" him" in the light, look up the Zorn character over at the Daz web site.

Spotted a nice tasty morsel for the mystery figure in the window...The Mouse Collector !

I really like the warm lighting and the extra postwork on the owl.

Thanks very much. I also liked the lighting (although I never did get the leaves to cast shadows like I envisioned). But there's no postwork on the owl. I may have touched up a bit to remove a leaf from around his feet, but that's strictly lighting and texturing bringing this guy to life.
