Description
Just an inadvertent shot, captured back on 11/7/10, at a Renaissance Faire held at Felicita County Park, 742, in semi beautiful Escondido, California.
The girl in the blue skirt was complaining that her feet hurt in those medieval shoes.

A lovely capture and yes I am glad our shoes are much more comfortable these days. This is a lovely colorful scene.

Accordion? Guitar? African drum? At a medieval festival? Really an anachronism there! I like this photo essay from the fair. Keep up the good work! :-)

just a couple of images at the end of my night (to show you I didn't fall in!) This one I did see when it went up, and it's a very colorful festive capture, with some really delightful human details. The lady in the blue skirt is definitely not on her best day: Love her posture and face. The lady next to her is a great find, with that deep purple vest and that crazy large sign. The accordion player is loaded down with stuff---including those leather pants guards (what are those called?) (chaps???) and all that stuff on his belt. A guitar player with a haircut from 1950. That big drum. And a nice walk-space right in the center---a really pleasing composition and shot, Harry, with big sunny light and lots of humanity. As for T.Rex's comment, yeah, the accordion as we know it is from the 1800s, though it has crazy ancestors going back to the middle ages; the guitar was definitely around in the Renaissance, but not that one, lol, and the drum does look African, but it could be a Renaissance drum too. A real potpourri, and real delight...And that tired lady looks like she's almost wearing hush puppies! I think that's a renaissance shoe, but they look like she bought them at Shoe Mart...one of the many joys of these faire series, a potpourri of 2 different ages and cultures. Such sunshine in these. Perfect for the occasion...
