Description
"Where is your bravado now mortal?" Asks the skeleton king.
I thought seeking him out would lead me to my salvation, but now seeing him sitting upon his throne of skulls surrounded by what appears to be more than one hundred skeleton subjugates leaves me second guessing the logic of my decision, especially considering I'm now locked in here with them. Glowing yellow eyes are radiating like stars in a cloudless night sky, they seem to penetrate the darkness from every corner of the room. Aside from the king himself, it appears only two others have armor and swords. I can't help but notice that those same three also have glowing red eyes instead of yellow, is it a sign of the power they possess?
"Foolish mortal, I will hang your entrails from the ceiling after I rip out your beating heart with my bare hands." Boasts the king. "It has been so long since I have savored mortal flesh."
Is this guy for real? Tate clears his throat. "I'm betting with being a king and all that you're pretty accustomed to getting your way, well I'm sorry to say that it's time to get used to disappointment. I've died already once today, no way I'm a doing it again!"
The skeleton king laughs a deep haunting laugh, soon his followers do the same and it becomes deafening.
"I find you entertaining little mortal, maybe I will let you live a little longer." Says the king arrogantly.
The white stone sword in Tate's right hand begins glowing blue and wild blue energy seems to be leaping from the blade. Tate has a natural ability to infuse magic into inanimate objects changing its properties, the objects become much more durable. Hammers do more damage upon impact, blades will not break and can penetrate materials not normally possible.
"I have no plans of extending you that same courtesy." Says Tate sharply. "If my way out is through you, then through you I shall go."
Again the king laughs. "I admit I am curious about your magical blade, but no blade can compensate for such odds. You are outnumbered mortal and in the end your sword will be mine."
"I can't argue with that." Says Tate. "In fact why don't you come and take it now, I will be happy to GIVE IT to you."
"I sense great power within you mortal, but we both know that the power does not truly belong to you. You wear the dark mark upon your shoulder, in time it will devour you from the inside. By killing you now I would be doing you a favor." Says the king.
"Hmmm, with a friend like you who needs enemies?" Asks Tate.
"Oh, I see." Says the king. "You do not understand the dark mark, you do not yet know the horrors it will inflict on your body and your mind."
That's not what I needed to hear, damn that Dark Child for double crossing me. Thinks Tate.
"I now sense the conflict within you little mortal, surrender now and I will make your death as painless as possible. In addition I assure you that you will rise again as one of my chosen, my elite." Says the king.
"NOT A CHANCE!" Screams Tate defiantly. "If I die again today then so be it, but make no mistake I'm taking YOU with me."
I watch as the king rises to his feet calmly, his glowing red eyes focusing directly on me. Then he says just two words...
"KILL HIM."

You know...that is down right rude, leaving me on a cliff hanger like that!! Seriously, this is great writing, and graphics for that matter. I haven't forgot your message, I'm just slow answering.

I think the Skeleton King just signed his own death warrant - if the dead can do that. Marvelous story telling!
