I did a small amount of work with Poser way back when it was new. Honestly, I was amazed by what you could do with just that program and the stock characters. I did a bit of illustration and posted to Renderosity before it was called Renderosity. It was "something" 3D, I think...LOL Anyway, those images are long lost to the server.
Recently, I was traveling and decided to try my hand with the new Daz Studio software. I was floored by just how many options are now available for creating with 3D models. So, here I am...once again playing with characters. My renders are primarily tests of all the new and cool props, morphs, shaders, and environments. I get the most enjoyment by creating new characters based on either the Genesis 2 or 3 models. Hopefully, I'll have some ready for sale soon!
As always, thanks for looking!

Fantastic... She's great!

Thanks! If you know of a good way to make the painted runes look like thick paint, let me know. I was wondering if some kind of bump map could do it. I was also wondering about how to make line scars...carved in runes on the skin.

What a marvelous character... I love her tattoos too !!!

You're very kind. I'm thinking there must be a good manga style story in here somewhere. I think that she's one of the good demons - more of a nature spirit, that haunts the ruined back alleys..etc...something very old coping with the modern world.
She wears the Celtic runes of strength and courage in battle and the end of strife. She also wears the Triskele which spans both Christianity and Paganism...Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Earth, Sea, Sky. In her case, it is more likely that she is acknowledging her own place in the universe and pulling that power to herself. I imagine she is both immensely strong like a force of nature and also weak because of her lack of understanding of humans. (Cue the melodramatic music...)
Now, I'm just thinking out loud. I could be completely wrong about her...the little scamp!
Thanks for looking!

Again, excellent work. Lighting, pose, character .... great!

Thanks again! If you know how to get the translucent skin effect to her ears, let me know. I think it would add a lot to the real feel of the render if a slight bit of the light would shine through her ears.

Magnificent image!

This is a stunning work, my friend. I sure would like to see your reality/Lux version once you're comfortable with it. I personally found it easier to get good (or let's say more predictable) results in Reality, when I still worked with DS3 and Reality 2. now with DS4.8 and Reailty 4.2 I'm much more struggling.
A bump map could do the paint effect! Just try! I also love to do a bit special effects with displacement maps, but then you need to add quite some subdivision in the shader settings which sometimes overloads my computers resources and DS just crashes.
For the translucent effect in the ears, I suppose you need to play with the sub surface scatering. There are shaders at daz (subsurface workshop) which might help to learn how this works - just analize these shaders. How ever I'm still searching by my self for a good document that explains all the Iray parameters, so to understand better where to screw to get a particular effect.

Thanks so much! The tips are great. I suspected a bump map might work...but, I've never worked with one...
I'm in total agreement about Iray...if only there was a really good, both in depth and simplified for 3d newbies like me...manual. I'd even buy one in dare I say it...print. ;)
As to Reality 4.2, I'm starting to wonder if it was a good purchase. The interface is simple compared to Daz Iray controls. But, I'm finding it difficult to understand, just the same. I thought it would be easier, since I come from a photography background. Nevertheless, I've seen some amazing renders done with Reality that look even more photo real than Iray. So, it's probably worth learning.
