Description
The entire group stops to watch as Crete confronts the skeleton king expecting a battle of the ages, however that hardly ends up being the case. The skeleton king quickly realized he was no match for Crete, with his defeat inevitable he drops to his knees and begins begging for his life frantically.
"Spare me gray skinned mortal and I will give you treasure beyond your wildest fantasies." Says the king.
Crete smiles ever so slightly, he seems to be considering the Kings offer.
"Gems, weapons, items of great power. They can all be y..."
But before the king can finish, Crete reaches out and grabs him by the face. Even from across the room we can hear the skull creak under the force of Crete's powerful fingers. He doesn't apply enough pressure to penetrate the skull completely, just enough to compromise its structural integrity.
"STOP, Arrrrgh." Screams the king in agony.
"He's breathing, HE'S ALIVE!" Calls Hayden from the across the room.
Crete turns to see Hayden helping Tate up, up enough to rest his back against one of the rooms large pillars. Relief floods Crete internally and he turns his attention back to the now squirming skeleton king.
"I would say you're lucky that my friend still lives." Whispers Crete. "But let's be honest...it changes nothing, your time is over."
The king now muffled by Crete's hand attempts to scream in fear.
Crete glances over at Tate once more and is surprised to see him staring back. The look in Tate's eyes is murderous and this for some reason pleases Crete very much.
"He is defeated." Says Crete.
"Finish him." Whispers Tate through heavy labored breathing.
Crete turns back to the skeleton king. "Times up." He says menacingly.
And again the skeleton king protests loudly and defiantly to the best of his ability, but Crete squeezes harder and his finger tips rip through the skull. The Kings defiant protests turn to unyielding horror and pain, but Crete twists his wrist in a quick motion snapping the skeletons neck. Pieces break off as Crete lifts the now severed head victoriously into the air, the glowing eye sockets dim confirming his death. As the king dies the remaining skeletons throughout the room topple over lifelessly to the ground, the magic of the king was somehow keeping his subjugates animated.
Hades approaches his brother and Crete can't help but notice the pleased look upon his face.
"Well done brother, brutal as it was I cannot deny the results." Says Hades while patting his brother on the shoulder.
"It was nothing." Replies Crete who then reaches down and picks up the skeleton kings crown. He eyes Hades with a smile before placing the crown upon his head.
Hades chuckles. "Is it king Crete then brother?"
"Every ruler needs a crown." Replies Crete straight faced.
This immediately causes Hades to stop laughing. "Rule? What do you rule? Do you rule us, are we your underlings brother?"
Crete considers this. "Is their harm in being ready for the future?"
"What do you plan to rule in the future?" Asks Hades curiously.
"All that chooses to oppose me." Replies Crete quickly.
This leaves Hades momentarily speechless.
"The world is ruled by the mighty." Says Crete. "I do not plan on serving anyone or anything."
"This world is unknown to us, let us discover it first before you start conquering it. Let us get to know our enemies before we start making enemies of possible allies." Says Hades.
"You have heard Tate the same as I have." Reminds Crete. "He says the world will not accept us, our gray skin and red eyes will forever make us outcasts."
"All I'm asking is that we give the world a chance. If and when the world rejects us, then we can start planning for its domination." Says Hades. "Are you with me?"
Crete nods. "I will give the world a chance...and when it fails I will begin rebuilding it from the ashes."
Crete then begins moving towards Tate and the others, this leaves Hades alone with his thoughts. Is Crete wrong? If the world will not accept us for who we are, then what choice does that leave us? I like my brother refuse to be discriminated against because of the color of my skin and eyes. If the world chooses to attack us then my brother is right, we will fight back, we will make the world tremble at our feet.
