Description

A salute to my fellow veterans on this hallowed day. Just one of the many tombstone images I captured back on May 25, 2009, at the beautiful Los Angeles National Cemetery in beautiful West Lost Angeles, California. ZOOM a must. Interred on its 114 acres are war veterans from the: Mexican–American War Civil War Spanish–American War World War I World War II Korean War Vietnam War Iraq War War in Afghanistan.

And how many are they, who paid the ultimate price, while yet hoping to get home alive? Makes one stop and think about the true price of freedom. Freedom isn't free. It costs. Let us never forget this. Keep up the good work! :-)

One of your most beautiful and moving Memorial Day and Veterans Day uploads. A beautiful, sweeping, lush and very moving image, in memory of the fallen. Esp with the lush grass, the beautiful rolling hill, and all the flags and all the stones. Very moving, Harry. My many bows for your service in a war that saved the world. I will always be grateful for what you did, along with all your brethren. And it's touching that you listed all the wars commemorated in this place. Many thanks.
