Description
Hi there,
American Air Show, Duxford 2016..
New ruling means a change of take off route, this is not a bad thing really as it means the aircraft have to 'warm up (rev up) even closer to the folks standing ...well, here! Remember the days when your hat got blown off by prop blasts.. well, mine did here, Harvards actually, three of them..
The Mustangs you see here are 'Miss Velma', (nearest), a TF-51D owned by the Fighter Collection, based at Duxford..
And the very cool sharksmouth RAF job, is a P-51D from Norway owned by the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation (and yes they own one of thiose as well lol).
There are two Buchons powering away behind as well..
In the misty distance, you can see an Apache (called Gunbus), and the back of one of two Dakotas..
I'll show those soon, as one is very famous and you WILL have seen it
Rob

Beautiful aircraft.

Cool. Cool! COOL! Warming up close to the audience will either thin out the audience (many chasing blown away hats), or provide a lot of patients for the nearest ear-nose-throat doctors! Sounds like a lot of fun! Too bad Rendo doesn't have sound to go with the still images! Hmmm... I haven't mentioned prop blur yet, have I? But now I have! Interesting how the blur is created, by the prop being out of sync with the camera's shutter speed. Keep up the good work! I expect to see more fun images from this show! :-)

The P-51D Still one of the most beautiful and most advanced fighter planes of WWII. I love the sound of the Merlin Mustangs!

Ah, beauty! Nothing like a good 'Stang firing up to get the blood flowing!
Cool shot, Rob!
