Description
Hi,
For a very long time I have hoped for this moment, The Bronco Demo Team had arrived at Duxford...
They have a couple of Broncos and this rather rare display item an ex-U.S Short SC-7 Skyvan.. Its registered as G-PIGY and I think that fits lol It is used to carry their gear around and performs a very spirited display of its own..
The Bronco, (an OV-10B) was produced for the Luftwaffe as a target tug and still wears its original markings.. It retired in 1990..
It WAS VERY lively! there is a Video clip of this doing the 'Mack Mile' from the cockpit cam.. very cool..
Huey and OH-6 Cayuse shots inbound..
Taken at the American Air Show at Duxford this year on slightly misty day.

Didn't know the Luftwaffe flew Broncos. Haven't see a Skyvan in years !Another fine fly-by shot.

I remember the Broncos - actually work on a couple when I was in Thailand..
Cool shot of both planes, Rob.

The Bronco was like Hans Brinker's finger in the dike. It could not stop the flood of tactical aircraft from appearing in Southeast Asia. Maybe a Starfighter was kept close to home by this one.
