I’m Andy. TELL THEM YOUR FULL NAME I’m not even mentioned in either story. YOU’RE IN THE NEXT ONE. Fine. I’m Andrew Stephen Mathis. You’re probably wondering why I’m in a tunic and jeans and standing next to a refrigerator. The jeans are actually more comfortable than the leather trousers they wear in Menthanla. The fridge wasn’t my idea. I was born in Colorado, here on Earth. I moved to Chicago to go to school. I was studying to be a chef and was quite good at it and worked as a Karate instructor to help pay for it. That’s where I met Annlonna. I went with her and Sapphire to Torthoc to help them with stopping Lyra and got a big shock. Ann grew up in a Renaissance fair. Ok, it’s not really a fair. It’s her whole world. And I don’t know if it follows the Renaissance period exactly, but her world sure reminds me of a Ren fair. Except this one had real elves and dragons and magic. I’ve even been told there are unicorns, but they won’t come near where we live because of the dragons. They figure that since dragons eat horses, they’d eat unicorns too. And the biggest shocker is I’m a mage. Before I met Ann, I didn't know magic was possible. I’m now a jack of all trades. I help Ann as ambassador. I teach Karate to the soldiers. I help the chef in the kitchen. I teach magic at the wizard’s school. I’m a potions maker. And I help at the home for abandoned and runaway kids, though mostly I just check the kids for magic potential. My parents are cool with everything, including me not living on the planet, as long as I bring my family for visits frequently. They were pretty stunned too, but they adapted pretty well. When your son tells you he’s marrying a dragon, what else is going to faze you?
