Description

Hi, This lump of somewhat unattractive metal is sadly the RAF's new refuelling aircraft.. All Tristars and VC10's has been sold, retired or scrapped now.. Mostly scrapped as is the British way.. In 30 years they will wish they had kept a Tristar at Cosford Museum.. Anyway, his WAS taken at The Cosford Airshow on a crap day.. (Weather not interest). It did two brief flypasts and legged it.. I can't tell you anything about it expect it was late in service cost billions more than they said and we ended up with less than planned.. Pray there is NEVER a war.... Oh and its basically an Airbus 330 I believe.. Didn't the VC10 have so much more grace and style....,.. Sorry, bit negative about.. Other stunning news.. For the first time in over 50 years, The Red Arrows are NOT, that's NOT allowed to display at Farnborough Airshow.. Only level flypasts.. Reason? those new safety laws I mentioned.. Good here isn't it.... Oh and NO (THATS NO) Civilian owned Jets will be flown as far as I know this year either.. (Sea Vixen is Navy owned) Rob

Oh, it's not that bad looking, Rob. You got a great shot, too.

I like tankers boomed or boomless podded. They could be more svelte as not needing cubic feet but bombers like that are confined to the B-52. Any time the birds can fly in celebration is good with me,

Nice pic, and it does look like an airbus, was surprised it was developed independently, I assume it does something better. Too bad about those safety concerned Brits. I guess the stiff upper lip Brits days are gone. I guess that's what happens when you got tunnel connecting you to France. Opps got political, Sorry.

Hmmm... looks interesting. Got a lot of metal on the wings trailing parts. And yes, does look like an Airbus. Did the company bosses cheat, using an Airbus and pocketing some of the money for development? Was that why the high price tag? It will be interesting what effect Brexit will have on UK defense (if any) if the vote is a yes to leave the EU. Nice photo even if you find the plane a bit scrappy. :-)
