Description
Elephant Hill Trail at Canyonlands...
To answer T.Rex's questions from yesterday, I don't know where the name Elephant Hill came from, but I suspect there is a rock formation somewhere on this trail that someone thought looked like an elephant - though I didn't see it. As for temperature & sun, we went in October & the temperature (as I recall) didn't get over 80 or so. There was very little shade to be found, though, on the entire trail & no water, so we used ample amounts of sunscreen & wore hydration backpacks & drank plenty of water.
Please zoom.

Superb capture my friend. God bless.

Thanks for the info. Yes, October can be nice in desert lands. But, plenty sun screen's needed as you say (or a good parasol, but that would make carrying stuff a bit problematic). There must be plenty iron oxide in those red rocks. Keep up the good work. Am looking forward to more interesting formations! :-)

I have been doing summer projects so have not spent enough time on Renderousity to be caught up on commenting. I am so far behind I know I shall never catch up. However today I looked at and liked all of your photos . I love the Southwest red rock country . You got some really beautiful shots.

Great Scott, 80! It would ruin the outing for me. A superb photo, glad I can enjoy your hike in the cool.
