Description
As your taxi travels down Calle Hernández Echerri it will pass the Church and Monastery of Saint Francis (Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco). Built in 1813 by Franciscan monks, the building became a parish church in 1848, and in 1895 was converted into a garrison for Spanish troops. The church fell into disrepair, and in 1920 much of it was demolished, leaving only the bell tower and a few nearby buildings. It is now a museum.

Full view (another zoom which required that I rent another apartment), man, the details pop out. I love the detail in the street, the slope , the sharp detail of the slats along the doorway/windows, and the wonderful array of assorted people, incl one recessed in a doorway (on the left). And then---the piece loooooms. Whoosh---we go up into that bell tower, and into a dark, almost threatening sky. The detail below balances out the expanse above. So much contrast in this shot, yet it feels peaceful. And the lady in front is perfect. Love your people photography in this trip.

I concur with Mr. T. and I also like the pastel coloured painted houses very much, just like in Naples, Italy - when I was visiting - but then I noticed the overhead wiring and thought they [the houses] were all caught up in a big spider's web...
