Description
Trinidad was an interesting town with interesting people. It was the only place in Cuba where people came up to me while I was walking around trying to sell me something. One fellow attached himself to me as I was off to see the Iglesia Parroquial de la SantÃsima (Church of the Holy Trinity). He was selling what he told me were Cohiba cigars at bargain prices. When I told him with my limited Spanish that tobacco had killed my mother he recoiled as if he had touched a hot stove and apologized.
A few were more direct and just held out their hands. I would pay a Cuc (convertible unit of currency) or fifty centavos for a portrait. Like this character.
Please zoom in, this guy's face is amazing.

It's worth every cent/cuc/centavos to have a portrait of a 'well weathered' looking guy and I would definitely pay for it as well... and I do admire his slightly hirsute, but amazingly clean looking appearance.

I'm with Andrea, a terrific character study. I did zoom, and not only is his face amazingly weathered, but great detail on his hands, neck, that thick head of hair, etc. (Brigitte calls him "slightly hirsute"---well, when you're as bald as I am, it's more like wayyyyy hirsute) (and hey, how often do you get to say "hirsute" in this life?) (there's a pun in there, but it's not very funny...) And you captured a great pose too, and facial expression. You've been doing fine human photography from the start, so this is no surprise. Love the simple blocks of color behind too.
(Btw, I'd never head that Liszt-Wagner joke. The only Liszt joke I knew had to do with "listless". Don't remember the setup, but you can provide your own. I also tried, once, "Schindler's Liszt" but it was downright insulting, given the context. And there was a good "ketchup" joke in Pulp Fiction, though I don't remember where. And don't think I didn't try to find some stupid joke about the "Goldberg" Variations, years ago. It was just so weird to find the name "Goldberg" in anything by Bach. And btw, that piece is IMPOSSIBLE! It's really, really hard to play. I never mastered it or came close. Great that you were listening to it when you came to my gallery. I had a great soundtrack.)
