Just one example of what our persistent heat and drought is doing to our flora. Our agapanthus and floribunda roses now look like oven baked muffins.

Yes, but the leaves dont look thirsty. I think this time its the age of the flower. It is giving seed now :) Love this photo.

The leaves don't look thirsty? (Helle). Well, I bow to her knowledge of flowers, but they look pretty parched to me. Whatever the case, it's a terrific capture of a sunflower pooped out and fed up, with an insect on it (I think). And your composition lets it dominate the shot, with the house and leaves behind giving it an angled "welcoming arms" look. (The way the background objects open up to the right and left.) You caught it in front of the right hues: All that yellow against those greens and pale greens and whites, etc. Love the shot.

I agree with Helle, I think it's just the cycle of the how they go. The leaves stay firm and green, the petals die off and the seeds flourish. It's how flowers work, and if they didn't we wouldn't have sunflower seeds for snacks and salads! Great capture, Harry!
