I am an musician and artist. My musical mainstays are Blues, Rock, and Country, Between the three I stay fairly busy recording and playing live performances. I have been playing since the 60's so I have had a rather lengthy career.
As an artist I seem to be mostly into FANTASY ART with side trips into MOOD and SURREAL ART. I use POSER, VUE, BRYCE, and CARARRA. Photoshop is my tool of choice as a post production tool, and rarely do any of my pieces escape from Photoshop untouched. Mixed media works intrigue and challenge me. I love to see pieces come together.

Nice dark atmo.

Great character render, the main differences seem to be that this one has greater contrast and dark patches than the original.

It takes a lot of courage to revisit the past, because we can never really step into the same stream twice. Our skill sets and our perceptions are always different if not deeper. You are a courageous artist because you've done this repeatedly, and to great effect I might add.

This one has a harsher, more dramatic feel. I can't decide which one I like best.

Thank you. I know what you mean. When I compare them side by side they have a very different feel yet obviously so much remains the same. I always hated the orbs in the first one because they were an early attempt at Photoshop that make absolutely no sense to the pictures relevance.
My own critique of this one is "whoa dude slow down on the new post tools fx. You don't need to use every tool just because you have it. i was kinda like a little kid with a new toy, wanting to make it do everything in every moment of fun. "

Of course you need to use every tool, what fun is it not to? :D Also you learn a lot fast that way. I love postworked renders, I think it adds so much to the image; makes it personal and brings so much more depth and interest!

Your sense of an image really shows in the later one. The changes are subtle, and yet they make a huge statement. Now I'm thinking I wanna do this. :) Great exercise and wonderful results. Very brave of you also.:)
