Description
Nothing too special here - just my first stab at DAZ 4.9. Here's Girl 6, and she seems relieved to be able to come out and play at long last! I've had her for a while, and have done a couple renders in Poser using the DSON utility. Aside from G6 and a couple others, I've not had much luck getting Genesis figures to work right in Poser. But it's kind of a moot point, now.
I'm liking what I see so far with DS 4.9 - but I have a lot to learn, so all you DS experts out there be looking for some noob questions! LOL
Here's the first one... When I DL'd 4.9, it came with the Install Manager. It installed all the G3 stuff that comes with DS, and Genesis - Genesis 2 as well. And then - bless its little heart - it found EVERYTHING I've ever bought from DAZ since 2009, and happily downloaded it. That;s fine, as it's another backup of all those goodies. Buuuut...... My laptop has a 120 gig OS SSD drive, and I'd really rather have all that content loaded on the 2TB storage drive, as I'll be wanting to add more G3 stuff as I learn how to use DS. Can you put your content someplace besides the OS drive, and tell DAZ to go there to find it?
I will, of course, still be using Poser, but I love the look from IRAY, and want to become at least as familiar with DAZ as I am with Poser. It will be an interesting journey. Lots more coming....

You should be able to direct the system to search other drives/folders for your content, then copy or move your content to that drive.

Lovely work, this looks like a fun character to lay with. IRAY is a fabulous engine. I'm still at 4.8. Good luck with the rogue installer.

Hi Rod yes you can store it elsewhere say on another drive. Go to the content library, tab right click on the the Daz Studio Formats label box thing which has my library and program files then when you right click on the Daz Studio Formats you will see an option add a base directory then navigate to where you store your content you want to use. If you right click on the content libaray tab itself you will get a list of options one is scan hard drives for file. There are a number of other options under there too.. Hope this helps..

One thing I can tell you right now!you can go to OS(C:) /Users/Public/Public Documents/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/Downloads Then go to type and in the drop down box check Compressed (zipped) Folder all those Zipps you can Cut and Paste into a Folder(I named mine Installed DAZ zips) on your otherHD that will Free up Gigs on your Main HD you can even put them on a Disk or delete them if you want because DAZ keeps them for you DAZ Content is Installed in OS(C:) /Users/Public/Public Documents/MyDAZ 3D Libriary By Default but you can specify it on another drive in the Install Manager As for your Poser Content you can specify in the install manager where you Installed them Good Luck! and have Fun!

I don't use the CMS or new cloud type storage because it requires being online to refresh quite often. If I ever want to work off line because of long term connection problems I might be barred from using that content so I refuse to download it that way. I store all my content both Poser and Daz 'runtimes' on external USB drives, so you do have the option available as others have already said!

Yep... Looks like she's been left in the Runtime folder just a little too long for her liking. Lol. - Poser people are like Genies... even if you don't have a wish (render) in mind, you should still rub their lamp every once in a while, so they can get out and stretch a bit.

Just show me your identity card before and let try some sex to be sure that you well know about certain practices: and then ONLY, you can go out. Well, preparing a SSD (because of Windows 10 upgrade) with DAZ 4.9 installed, from now on. Not already the last Poser PRO I bought last year and other little things. Just still working under Windows 7 at the moment, saving and storing all my things just in case... Datas, ...datas,

I've had virtually no luck using Poser with Genesis anything. The two do not work well together at all.
