Description
Again, Shuttleworth Military Pageant.. (Note sunny, as opposed to Duxfords often gloom)..
Also, I was not on a hill, or in another aircraft, for some reason, most likely due to no hoses nearby, the aircraft fly lower and nearer here.. It is a grass field as well, and Spitfires do land here.. (I have seen a Dakota land here once!).
Here are a Supermarine Spitfire Mk I (leading), Spitfire Mk Vb (middle), and finally, a Mk IX nearest.. Sally B was here as wwell, by far the closest I've ever seen her!!! Sopwith Pup anyone?

Cool capture :)

Cool, Rob, cool! Sopwith pup? You mean Snoopy, for real? In a Sopwith? Now THAT would be really cool (but I bet you can't get a-hold of him - he's rather rare nowadays!). Keep up the good work. Next, a close up of the pilot's moustache while he's flying? You're getting dreadfully good at this! :-)

Great capture. Have you set the clock correctly on your camera? Exif say the picture was made around midnight ;-)

When I made a model of a British Battle of Britain participant I chose the Hurricane for the reason it was a steel tube framed fabric covered airplane in the beginning and not welded to be maintained in the empire. I did not have access to the inner substructure of any monocoque or cellular monococque design. Kitplanes were being built with chrome-moly subframes under bagged carbon fiber in current practice in my country. S-o-oo-

A smart salute to the Spits and all the lads who flew (and fly) them. Superb!

What a great photo, Rob!

I admit I am not very good with know the differences in airplanes, but the elegance of the spitfire is a known quality. Funny how many of the allied aircraft look similar. I guess it is a tribute to the great design of the time.
