Description

I don't often get the chance to work with any of the many romance genres, so when Fran Connor contacted me on The Book Marketing Network*, I jumped at the opportunity to create the cover art and design for his historical romance novel, Honourable Lies. Blurb: A passionate, thought-provoking tale of love and revenge set in Nineteenth-Century England. Follow the progress of a poor, orphan girl serendipitously elevated to High Society. Her mind is to marry a rich man, regardless of love, so she will never be poor again; instead, she falls in love with a handsome, young landowner with whom she can have it all; love, security, and wealth. As fate would have it, there are obstacles to their romance: his wife, an evil aristocrat, a beautiful gypsy, and Gallows Hill. I enjoyed the work so much; I've added it to my ImageKind Gallery* just in case anyone would like a framed print to accompany their copy of their book. Below is my favored frame style (modern lines, medium), but what's great about IK is you can choose the frame style that best suits your home. Although I was taught, one should decorate one's house to suit the art, not decorate with art.

I like the moody, overcast feel of this render, as well as that touch which gives it that hand-painted look (will have to find out how you achieve that effect). The gallows in the background sure look disturbing; I'm glad there isn't anyone hanging from the noose!
