Description

This particular Hydrangea is better for insects than most of the others as it has available food. "Hydrangea serrata are small deciduous shrubs similar to H.macrophylla and usually with lace cap flowers that are flat with small flowers without petals in the centre and showy flowers with petals on the outside. Native of the mountains of Japan and part of South Korea were it grows in mountainous woodland. " Here is something really odd and interesting left behind by a bee.

Beautiful little hairy fellow. Nice photo of it. Amazes me that they can fly, given size and shape! Keep up the good work! :-)

It looks like a stuffed toy bee. Fuzzy! This shrub is beautiful. Large single flowers are pretty but I often find the groups of smaller flowers very beautiful. This one reminds me of elegant lace.

They do look like they would be bumbling but are actually quite graceful. I once rad a scientific study which concluded that, given their physiology, bees should not be able to fly. Of course, bees don't read scientific studies. Perhaps the bee left its cargo behind because it couldn't manage the lift.

Two terrific images and thanks for the I.D. on the other picture. We have Osteospermums growing here but I never knew what they were.
