Description

Just visited my ophthalmologist today and learned that the cataracts are very aggressive in both eyes, the right eye being the worst. So next month I get to have cataract surgery on the right eye then three weeks later the one eye that is left. Now the good news: in month and a half, I will have wonderful vision and not have to squint to read signs. Now the bad news: I will then be able to see the political signs..... :-{ I scoured the internet to find the appropriate eye to display. I found the one I really like.

Well, that sucks but then that's great news but then again those signs may make you want to put your eyes out. Cool image, people will think you have cat's eyes.

I had both eyes done last year... About two weeks after the first eye I looked in the mirror and saw myself without glass for the first time in my life (literally... I've worn them from the crib)! Good luck with the surgeries!

I hope the surgeries go well and that your eyes are as good as new again. A shame you have to see the political signs though. We are getting full coverage of your elections down here too so I can just imagine what you are having to put up with. At least we are getting a filtered version. 😄

Oh dear, good luck with the surgery; maybe you can ask them to insert some kind of political filter for your vision that will automatically block the stuff you don't want to see? Well, it's worth asking anyway...

As an artist, I'm sure your improved eyesight will outweigh any negative sightings.

Well Mike, you are in for a much clearer future. As you said, on the down side, you will see more than you can stomach of the propaganda. Ignore it all.
My patients pretty much all say the surgery is well worth it. Most say it is not so hard or uncomfortable. You may well need reading glasses though after.
Hugs from myself and all the roonies.
And Bilbo.

Sound good innthevend, Mike. In our city they claim it's painless, quick and can return to work the next day with 20/20 vision or money back for most people. And this image is wayyyyyy cool! Hope the best for you.

Mike, Been though those surgeries. You will be amazed at how much brighter your vision is through the first corrected eye. I wasn't able to drive at night while I needed glasses for one eye and not for the other. I also still need a prism .
Good luck, JC

I had to have that done on my left eye a few years ago after they did surgery to repair a torn retina. I really need to get it done on my right eye, as well - probably the sooner the better... The surgery itself isn't all that bad. The thing that bugged me the most was the freaking bright light they have to shine in your eye - and you can't blink (the eyelid is held open anyway).

LOL at your comment about the political signs...... That gives me an idea...... :-O

Cool image, Mike!

Hey, Mike I wish you all the best for that surgery. I remember, quite a few years ago my dad had to do this as well and he told me, that it was painless and he was so amazed how clear he could see again. I think, we are blessed today, when I think what men is able to medicate and repair (especially in the so fragile eyes) nowadays. So there's hope in front of you, and don't worry, we anyway just get to see the worlds events through the "glasses of the journalists and reporters" (and those are sometimes heavily distorted. 😉

Superb image! You must remember only the good news: that you'll see better now ... and for bad things, we would sometimes look elsewhere, indeed!
