Description
Greetings,
So, the phone rang and a guy says 'Do you fancy flying your Electra to Legends?'
Really....
Flown all the way from Washington State, by a guy with no airshow flying experience.. It did show, extremely safe and careful flypasts then a landing..
It had flown 4366 nautical miles to get there..
The Junior is a very rare aircraft and few survive airworthy.. Total worldwide product was 81 aircraft.. It was very expensive, compared to the '16' vastly so.. 7,000 of that model were built in various marks!
Shame about the weather and the best shot was of him landing, safe show..
Rob

I bet he's careful with such an expensive rarity. Interesting he flew it all the way from Washington State. I wonder where he made fuel stops? And what was the fuel bill? It's a very sleek and beautiful plane. Again, very good, stable hand, Rob. Excellent work. Keep it up! :-)

Four of a kind in the photo department, Rob. Very cool to see this rare type.

Thanks for thinking of me Rob when you saw this grand old Lockheed. I've looked it up and found it is registered to a guy who lives in Seattle. I think he must be an airline pilot. I found the plane was manufactured in 1938...two years prior to my manufactured date...heh, heh. I found a picture of this plane refueling in Iceland enroute to Duxford. I even found where it had been equipped with ferry tanks holding an extra 500 gallons of fuel. Bet the guys that flew this over for Legends had a blast.

Plywood and putty project. They kept the mold. Now tell me about Zika mosquitos?
