I remember I wrote to you about this...it's a stunning black and white, with high contrasts and very rich blacks and dark grays. I think I mentioned Ansel Adams when I wrote to you about this, because of your deep rich blacks. (He used way-high f-stops and did a lot of darkroom work to coax out his famous deep blacks.) This has "shining" blacks. I know that's a contradiction, but some blacks are luminous, and these are luminous. Beautiful abstract spacing and massing and contrasts. This is a night-like scene, but it has real day feelings---only, with all that deep black contrast, it feels like the day after an atomic blast. Denise mentions Apocalypse. It's fitting. Beautiful work.
