Description

This is the first full length render of Denizia. You can see that the warped eye isn't really noticeable at a distance. Overall, I'm pleased with how she came out...sort of a dusky, gypsy look. One of the most fun things about creating characters is figuring out where they end up. Originally, I had planned to make Denizia a teen supermodel type. But, after creating the face, I realized that she had more of a Mediterranean look. So, I just went with that. It's easy to imagine her walking through the vineyards on the side of Vesuvius. Anyone know a good source for a linen looking, off the shoulder, peasant dress? :) Thanks for looking!

Nice character. Great to see you are enjoying the process of creating them. I really enjoy it too.

I agree that the eye is a bit disconcerting at first but the more I think about the more realistic it looks. We are so used to perfect symmetry in the 3d products that we forget in real life that the left and right sides are not symmetrical.

I don't think a single photo of a real life model that I've checked, has been completely symmetrical. In particular, the eyes and brow always vary. The most beautiful of women have this variance. I believe that it is this variance in a render that signals the viewer to see the image as more "real."

In the case of Denizia's eye, it is a bit off because the eyeballs themselves don't usually vary by much. So, I'd like to fix the warped pupil.

It is an interesting issue - striving for perfection in human beauty. But then once getting it perfect, realizing that you need to put some of the imperfect back in to make it look real. Of course, I don't see a problem with either sort of art...Both are good looks. But, I do like trying to make a render that can actually cause the viewer to wonder if it's a photograph instead of a 3D model.
