Description

I took a 3760 mile trip visiting 4 national parks in Utah, Arizona besides traveling to Colorado, New Mexico(visiting Shiprock getting the clearest picture I have taken) and Nevada. I arrived home this afternoon. I took this at Holbrook,Arizona. the train was waiting for another I suspect and if you look hard you may see another train behind this one about a 1/2 mile back. I visited Silver City,N.M. and then traveling on a scenic route on highway 152 east of town that connects with Interstate 25. if you ever venture to southern New mexico it is well worth a trip down 152 through Gila National Forest I spent last night in Pecos, TX that has notoriety of Phantly Roy Bean, Jr. (c. 1825 – March 16, 1903) was an eccentric U.S. saloon-keeper and Justice of the Peace in Val Verde County, Texas, who called himself "The Law West of the Pecos". According to legend, Judge Roy Bean held court in his saloon along the Rio Grande on a desolate stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert of southwest Texas. After his death, Western films and books cast him as a hanging judge, although he is known to have sentenced only two men to hang, one of whom escaped. I used to have a friend with a similar name that was a judge in Amarillo area. back when he was an acting judge, he was every bit as colorful as Judge Roy Bean. He was a super person and I do not have any idea if he is still alive. been many years since I seen him last. in the 70's I seen him every day almost
