Description

Paul looks pretty bad when you first see him in your Pose room, but it's not his fault--he's just morphed that way. He looks 20% better instantly if you select his jaw and push it shut. His maps are decent too, if a bit low res. My biggest disappointment was that the eyes aren't more high poly and detailed for close shots--they animate well and move well together (it's almost creepy seeing them move like that), but the eyes don't seem to "fit" perfectly into the socket and there is something odd going on in the eye corners. Probably some subdividing and playing with the morph tool would fix some of it, but I ended up just hauling his head into Argile and resculpting him a little for this. He's sort of based on a photo of Emma Watson's brother, though I didn't have any clothes for him. Are there clothes for him? I don't know why I ask.. I have had M4 literally for years and I think he has about 6 outfits all told..all by Prae :D Lots of postwork on the hair because transmapped hair in superfly is.... superslow. I tried to grow beard hair and it was the stuff of comedy, so I gave up on the strand hair and instead, added in Photoshop the places on the "edges" where hair would stick out--the rest is painted on the Diffuse map. In spite of the hair rendering problem, Superfly is growing on me. I am glad that we have the option of the legacy renderer, though, for speed.

Devilishly good looking and brutishly handsome isn't he... much like me!!

With much less lawn to mow, though! Also I suspect you own lacrimals, unlike this poor guy :D And thank you!

He's freaking me out! =<8^O It looks like they cut holes for his eyes...like he had a smooth clay face or something. It's kind of disturbing...

My first thought when I loaded him was "I need to order him some silicone eyes that fit" before I snapped out of it and remembered he wasn't an actual doll I could fix with apoxy sculpt and new eyes :D They tend to slide around in his head when I move stuff too...not sure why that is. Thanks for coming to see him, though! <3

He looks pretty good still my friend. My morphs for M4 don't work fight so I stick with v4.2. But nice tender, Lynn.

remember how scary the Miki's are? when I first installed I was in puzzlement why they would offer such a lousy looking product. accessory morphs improved her greatly

I have not even opened Paul but obviously you are doing good by him

That's an easy Million Percent Improvement!!!! I am so impressed you made him look like a sober non-scary Humanish guy!!!!
Nerd 3d has a super complex SuperFly shader for strand hair he's really proud of. probably available on the SM web site.

And as for clothing.... you once told me .... Paint always fits! ;>

It's true that paint fits--and it's cheap! I had to cheat and paint in lacrimals, it was making me crazy. I saw that preview of the strand textures-- they looked pretty, but I have to figure out how to not fill the room with hair and crash first. (There was hair freaking everywhere--I wanted a machete, not a shader) And thank you as always!

Thank you ! I feel sorry for the poor guy, he gets no love ..and I suspect some poor Smith Micro employee volunteered to be semi-cloned for him! He looks not bad with his mouth fixed and hair on his head, but no one I think has even gone that far!

Looks wonderful. i am glad to see you doing some work on the stock characters. Your tips are very helpful.

It seems so thrifty to get some use out of them--one of the nicest things about P11 is that they include all the older stock people, even Jessi, which I think I might even have some clothes for somewhere :o
